6 Easy-Peasy Bean Recipes For Eat Beans Day

Beans are one of the most nutritious and flavorful food available. They are staples for most cultures across the world. Beans are one of the longest cultivated plants that have been in existence since the 7th millennium BC. There are over 40,000 different bean varieties globally, but only a fraction of them are produced commercially for regular consumption.1

Beans are an excellent source of proteins, fiber, energy, and folate. They are versatile and can be used in various dishes. In addition, they make healthy snacks and delicious soups and stews.

History of the National Eat Your Beans Day

The National Eat Your Beans day is a food holiday observed every year on July 3rd. The day celebrates beans of all sizes and colors.

Beans are an important part of human history. In Egypt, they were often found buried with the dead. Unlike other crops, the genes for beans are almost identical to the ancient beans.2
