3 Food Ideas to Show Your Appreciation This Father's Day

Mothers Day was great, and you girls got your time in the limelight. Well, now it's time to make dad feel glad and know he's loved, too.

Everyone likes to be recognized for his/her role in the family and in your life. There are few things better than waking up to a chorus of Happy Mother's Day or Happy Father's Day greetings, knowing your family thought enough about you to remember your special day.

Moms like cards, flowers, chocolates, and especially the cards the little ones made all by themselves. Talk about warming your heart.

Well, dads like man things. No, this doesn't mean that you need to get up early and decorate the house like a cave and have his club, loin cloth, and Brontosaurus burger waiting for him when he wakes up.

Instead, a few great ideas that you could implement would be making some of his favorite foods and maybe having a great barbecue in the afternoon where you do the grilling. Don't take offense if he can't resist flipping the burgers just like mom still takes the spatula out of your hand in the kitchen, because she thinks she's the only one that can cook. It's just a dad thing and a mom thing.

Here Are A Few Food Ideas To Make Father’s Day Special

1. Grill up his favorite meats. Nearly every man has his favorite chunk of meat, whether it's hamburgers, steaks, seafood, or fowl. The trick is not just knowing how to cook it, but also how to season it just right.

For the meats, we have our Mother Earth Products granulated garlic and onions both on sale this month. A little sea salt, pepper if you like it, garlic, and onion rub will make steaks, chicken, hamburgers, and more taste like you had a chef cater the day.

2. Chili. You just cannot go wrong with a super incredible slow cooker of chili. It's easy on the chef (you) and goes with just about anything. Plus, it's one of the most versatile leftovers on the planet.

Even if your day is going to be a picnic and hot dogs, chili just works. Putting a scoop of chili over the hot dogs with sprinkle of cheese, a little dab of sour cream, and our chopped onions and chives on top can make it a meal to remember.

To make great tasting chili that will make everyone come back for more: just start off with our Mother Earth dried beans. Add ground beef, or if you'd like vegetarian chili then use our TSP (Textured Soy Protein). Follow your favorite chili recipe using our jalapenos, onions, chives and you'll have a masterful chili that will get you the compliments you deserve.

3. Now for an amazing dessert that won't pack on the pounds, or weigh you down with bloated stomachs for the rest of the day so you feel like you're the waddling ducks instead of watching them on the lake: go buy real heavy whipping cream. Not that stuff that comes in a can. I'm referring to the kind that comes in a paper board milk container that you whip yourself. This is the real deal and much better for you.

Whip your cream with honey, not sugar. Then take your favorite Mother Earth Products freeze dried fruits and berries and stir them in right before you serve it so they are still crunchy. This will add to the textures and make the flavors pop.

Spoon it into single serve bowls and make a nice little design on top with extra freeze dried fruits and berries and serve. If you want to get extra fancy, you can drizzle a small amount of the honey over the top as well. Maybe even drop on a very light sprinkling of cinnamon and, voila, you have a dessert fit for the king that dad is on his special day.
