For Dip: In a medium mixing bowl, thoroughly combine 1 pint of sour cream, 2 tbsp of water (optional but recommended) and ½ cup of mix. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably an hour, before serving.
Likes:'real' ingredients, not artificial flavors and colors
Improvements:I would prefer organic, if available. Flavor and texture are not quite 'right' with this mix, either.
no artificial ingredients
My reaction to this soup mix is mixed. On the 'plus' side, there are no 'fake' ingredients. Every ingredient is something I have or occasionally have in my own kitchen (ok, not as 'powders' or 'flakes,' but as the actual vegetable, but it's still not a purely chemically-manufactured substance). On the 'minus' side, I've tried it as a 'soup' twice, once 'as-is' just following the instructions on the package, the second time 'enhancing' it with vegetables and tomatoes. As 'onion soup' I thought it was terrible. As 'vegetable soup' it wasn't much better. However, I suspect it is EXCELLENT as an 'ingredient' in dips, in liquids for braising meat, as a 'coating' for roasting meat wrapped in parchment paper or foil....things like that. I just didn't care for it as a soup. May try it as a dip next and see how that tastes. Maybe I'm just a bit 'spoiled.' My homemade onion soup recipe is pretty hard to beat.

Three Onion Soup Mix
This product adds a great dimension to my meals and snacks, whether I make it as a soup, use it in a dip, or add it as an ingredient to other foods. It's convenient and versatile, and has the best flavor of any dehydrated onion soup mix I've ever tried. Thanks, Mother Earth Products!
This is a perfect blend. Our usual crockpot chili is two or three cans of different beans, one of vegetarian baked beans, one of diced tomatoes, and a generous amount of your Three Onion Soup/Dip Mix. The I throw in whatever: wilting veg, raw or sautéed onions, chili powder, sweet corn. I also use the mix in dip, roasted veg, veggie burgers, ramen, and instant split pea soup.
This is GREAT! Thank you, Jeanne!

Likes:The price is fair; not cheap, but fair. A good value for a fabulously savory result that's easily achieved.
Improvements:A larger package would be nice.
Hooked!
I've used 1/2 cup as primary seasoning each of 4 medium sized pot roasts, 2 beef & 2 pork, with excellent results in the opinions of the dozen or so friends who partook of the meals.

works great to flavor everything
I love this soup mix use it in meat loaf, burgers, soups and any casserole type dish. The flavor is superb.
They do freeze dried right! Both the skinless and skin on apples are great. After having tried several other brands, this one’s the keeper! Great flavors, the packaging is sturdy and keeps fruits crunchy and fresh.
Just stocked up on these! Since I don’t cook with onions often and don’t live close to a grocery store with organic onions, these are great to have on hand when making recipes! Highly recommend!
A great product for rabbit owners! My bunny goes nuts over these as an occasional treat sprinkled on top of her daily salads. They smell and taste very fresh and have a long shelf life. Good price, too, for such a large quantity, especially in comparison to that of many other retailers. She gets a teaspoon a couple times a week. (Carrot feeding must be limited in rabbits because they’re very high in sugar which commonly leads to digestive shut down (“gastrointestinal stasis”). Stasis is the #1 killer of pet rabbits and can occur in just 24 hrs.)

Great Fresh Taste
We use the chives in everything --- almost! These have a great smell and taste great! Absolutely recommend them! Great in hispanic food or as we used them here, with mashed potatoes.

JUST WOOOW!!
This was soooo GOOD! I made this yesterday for a crowd, in literal MINUTES! I just can't even believe that something this good with such authentic taste came from a dry mix. It has a tiny bit of a just-right kick, and the texture is perfect. I'll never have to buy expensive Tahini and make hummus from scratch again!! It was a big hit and no-one knew that it wasn't made from scratch (until I started bragging on the product) and I had people asking to take some home! BRAVO Mother Earth!!
