I enjoy using lentils in soups, but I hate the sorting/cleaning process. This process is eliminated with these already cooked and dehydrated lentils…plus they cook much faster!
The dried tomato flakes have excellent flavor and color. I used to dry my own tomatoes but an unable to do so currently, so I know they'll reconstitute in a few minutes in soups, stews, curries or water. I'll powder some in the blender for instant use or popcorn sprinkle, and keep the rest as flakes. These are bright intense dark red, just like when I dry my own tomatoes carefully.
They arrived in good time, in a good mylar(?) zipper bag, but I transferred them to airtight glass jars for storage.
My husband loves Mexican food. As we prepared him to hike the Appalachian Trail, freeze-dried Mexican food featured prominently in the 6-month menu. The freeze dried refried beans were exactly what we needed to accomplish that goal and they have been working great on the trail!
